About Me

My photo
Saint Louis, MO, United States
Humble. As I gain in knowledge and wisdom making sure I share myself. The world needs positive Brothers setting the standard for what’s good and right. Keeping God first and manifesting the best aspects of my dreams. Living life to the fullest, and being mindful of the shoulders of those I stand upon: the ancestors are watching and guiding me. I am only human – I am a man, I am going to make mistakes .Ultimately, I have to decide what is good for me, and that is with any decision I make. Life is about choices; certain choices lead us down certain roads. Regardless, I enjoy the journey of life and make as many good choices as I can. Remembering, there is no such thing as failure; just a learned experiences from what choices have been made. “”To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment” Ralph Waldo Emerson www.mjhustla.wordpress.com www.mjhustla2009.wordpress.com michael_d_johnson@hotmail.com

POEM: MY LIFE

I can do better on the Tracks if I lied. But I rather tell the truth and die before I tell the Truth and Die. Before I lie I would rather recite my entire rap book.
I will continue to keep my head held high regardless of my current situation. I write rhymes and spit lyrics because it brings me to a place in the World that no place can Humble me... I am not what I am viewed as - but what I am.

I speak the truth in my lyrics because that is what I like doing best. I would rather record a verse then go into a classroom. However, I know if I do not go into a class - a verse will never be written unless I put the pen to pad and continue to add.

If I could dream further then I have dreamed already - I would be higher up in the sky. Perhaps in Khemet. Then again, why would I have to make meantion. I am powerful beyond my years. My ancestors are guiding me. My place on Earth is as it is in Heaven. I could not do better on the Tracks if I cried. I see my lyrics viewed through a lense via my eyes. Attached in an email is just pictures that you see... one day those same pictures will make you and others cry. I touched those that need touching. I cared for those that need caring. I am not God - but since I am made in his likeness and image... My lyrical balance in the streets and on the tracks are nonetheless mines when you hear it! I could do better... but better isn't hearing it!

I write rhymes to recite lines. I spit bluntly because I am naturally high. I see my lyrics as unavailable to those just listening - thinking I am living my life just to get by. Just to get by is only a lie. I live everyday not knowing tomorrow goodbye. No contact to the world. Well those I thought I loved. I miss the projects more now then yesterday. I was taught how to be me and being me is the only way. My life: from the projects.

"IT WOULD BE A DREAM TO SIGN TO DEFJAM" - MJ HUSTLA

You probably wonder why I do not have a Record Deal? Well, are you the reason? Are you probably wondering why your are/or are not the reason? Check me out...
Why are most Record Labels lacking funding to sign Artist? Perhaps people are downloading mp3's instead of buying. I just baught four of Jay-Z's newest to hit Best Buy. I do like the D.O.A (Death Of Autotune). I tried to give away the other three during a giveaway but nobody won - so I took them back to Best Buy. I could have kept them - but will buy more Jay-Z on 9-11-09 when the Album pops in the store.

Why do I still go to Best Buy and other stores to buy muzik? I would want a fan, artist and buyer period to do the same instead of downloading mp3's. It cost money to make muzik and in return when someone steals our muzik - it makes it that much harder for us as artist to keep putting our muzik in the streets and trying to make a living.
I tell people all the time that if you rap to get paid - sorry. If you rap to make a living - sorry. I can definitely tell you that if muzik is not your passion, you will probably end up losing yourself in the hype and still be broke.

At one point of time - I left College after an Internship seeking to take over the World. I found out that music was not going to pay every b
ill I had. Let me give you some quick math. If I went to Best Buy and baught around four-hundred blank cds. Duplicated them with my most recent recordings and sold them for five-dollars each. That would be a nice amount of money right. Now deduct gas, food, and any automobile expenses that may come up - in addition to sliding one-hundred bucks to the side incase buying more cds is/was an option.

At any rate, when the end of the day comes - fans have your muzik. You have enough money to eat tomorrow. Okay! Reloaded. You did not have enough money to go back to the studio. So what do you do now? Well, I have found ways to make things easier for me - - - I have did what no one else has probably done in a while. I have four studios centered in the midwest that I can go to with a phone call. I have been to many places that Duplicate - but ROM SQUARED has served my needs and as long as I am growing personally and professionally, I will not leave.

July 12th 2009

It is 11:19 am. I am not feeling my best at this moment. I have been grinding none stop for so long. I am not sleeping as I used to, I am not allowing time to pass me up. I have literally sleep about four hours this week. I do not know how I am operating. The Creator has a plan for my life - nothing could be more satisfying. I stand like a man now and when I die. I say it would be a Dream to sign to DefJam because it would. When you live out a Dream, you make all things after that the impossible. What people said/say you would not do - you create that with all investments. I am the Author of the only dictionary that defines me. Thanks Star Jones. I will live my life to the fullest without selling you flaws.... the only vision that I can not see is changing my life leaving the hoods by they self while they battle the white. I swear to God I am changing a life a night. I am putting food in the hood call it food for life. The only purpose tat I live call it driven in life. I put my soul on my tracks so I can get it back, no amount of money can save me - figure how much is that - I put my life on the line too many time to call it back. Pressure can bust a pipe. I have created my own Diamond. MJ Hustla

J. Blue

Quote from J.Blue " What ever you do in life - do it to the fullest of your ability because you never get a second chance to make a first impression"

What better way to tell you about J. Blue other then he is from South Central LA. Okay! Maybe that is a little information that would have you wondering does he sing or/ rap? Well, just put it like this... J. Blue is simply the best young R&B singer in his neck of the woods. The West Coast has J. Blue. The Midwest Bumps J. Blue's music. I know that! With Snoop the letter D.O. and double G on the track. I think he is doing a awesome job. He paid his dues to the streets and the game itself... J. Blue is very humble and deserving of all he attains.

When J. Blue and I met, it was on the BET Black College Tour. We chopped it up for about ten are fifteen minutes after I hit the stage. Then went outside to get some air. I could not kick it all all the clubs that night - I had a lot of money to make to pay bills. My apartment and College Education was a bill too big to let go to collections...lol! When I got off the stage J. Blue gave me my props. Aye! J Blue, that shyt was dope bro. I appreciate the love. We ex-changed phone numbers and told each other we will keep in touch. I think that was last year around this same. I guess Networking Effectively is key. Shout out to Dj SixthSense on the 1 &* 2's.

If anyone wanted the coach to put them in the Basketball Game (Hip - Hop and R&B Scene) to make the last shot, I could see J. Blue telling the Coach "I Got This Coach. I will make the last shot. Have faith. A lot can happen in three seconds".

As a young brother searching for a Record deal...how could he not get it! If he had anymore talent then what he has - - - He probably could have had three records deal if you ask me.

Upon meeting J. Blue, he was not a scary little brotha at all. You could tell he was about business. We clicked two seconds after I got off the Stage. Now I think I have been knowing J. Blue since I was a kid. Myspace is a good tool to have when people can write on your wall. Blue leaves me comments that will have you rolling. He is a comedian at times in my view. He thinks my God Mother is Beautiful and that he should have been my God Farther. I truly hope I do not have a son when he has a daughter - I am going to send Lil MJ Hustla over to LA and of course... spit a little something something his daddy taught him. All joking aside. J. Blue is a stand up guy! His ratings - all the ladies screaming. I think that is enough. I ran into a fan of his music who knew every single word. I think her favorite park was probably "Uncle Snoop - J. Blue in this muthafucka - and we both Dressed in Blue --in this muthafucka"... because she knew that part word for word just as she did the other lyrics when it played. She even has a little body dance with it! Hell yeah it was dope. I wish you could have saw it! I was upset at J. Blue for a minute taking all the ladies to his fan club... but I got to see the Kenzie Dance so I am very much satisfied until I go back to Chicago to see it again.

She has his song on her mp3 player and hooked it up to the stereo. Of course you know she hot. Her roommate even vouched saying what Kenzie's favorite song was... I told her that I would tell my boi J. Blue to send her a shout out... she looked at me like I was crazy. Shout out: MacKenzie Collins at DePaul University in Chicago, whassup beautiful. My Dude MJ told me about you. He said you are about to Graduate from College soon. Thanks for listening to my music and supporting me. Feel free to hit me up on myspace and if you are ever in LA hit me up. MJ good look on getting MacKenzie her shout out. Keep grinding my dude - J. Blue

As for ya boi J. Blue, he is going to keep it gangsta, stay active in his community, keep the dance floors and strip clubs rocking with good music. Some may say he lucked up - he said just say perfect timing. Honestly, he has the entire West Coast behind him.. J. Blue keep doing you bro - ya boi MJ Hustla still on the grind and all the way to the top. Why not! See you when I get there. In the meantime... everyone should check out The Blue Book on myspace: www.myspace.com/jbluemusic Hey Ft. Snoop Dogg is still get the buzz in the streets in needs. Label: NeXlyfe / Universal Motown / Album: The Blue Book: From The Block to The Bed. If you do not have this album... go get it! Ya boi MJ Hustla. H.U.S.T.L.A

P. Jericho

Whatz good world. Itz ya boi MJ Hustla. I was listening to Yashi's song "If I Had My Way" as I was pulling up in front of a resturant bouncing my head and trying to park in a spot smaller then the whip... I made it in the parking spot with the grace of God seeing to it.

I went inside Star Bucks first to check my email and then stopped at the best place in town for some wings. There was MacKenzie. She and I sat and spoke about various Artist who are on the rise and those who are already rising.

The catch was that I was truly on the side of the fence for mostly Indie Artist as usual and more importantly.... Artist that sound totally different. Meaning " I can not say they sound like anyone".

Which brought the beautiful MacKenzie to let me know about the one, the only, the difference, the main event of sounding like no one but self... The brother of Afrikan Descent. Born in the Subs of Da Chi. Chicago is home for many Artist, Athletes & Actors:

Twista & (D.O.D) Do Or Die, R. Kelly, Yashi Rice, Da Brat, Cashis, Chaka Khan, No I.D. , Shawnna, Actor: Larenz Tate, Yung Berg, Drill-A-Matic,  Singer: Avant, and the list does not stop and probably won't. You got my boi (MJ) Michael Jordan and da one and only 12 Seasons, 6-5, 268 pounds, 122 Career Sacks, 5 interceptions just to blow the horn and 1996 3rd OVERALL in the NFL Draft. The Ball Player Simeon Rice.

So who need to say more about whatz' coming out Da Chi-Town... This brotha has had the opportunity of traveling back and forth from his home town to his roots.

If you want a different sound in your muzik...holla at da kid for a feature. If you want a different sound in your car... hit up iTunes! Comp that disc. If you just want to be his friend on myspace... you know how to find him. I know you will make the right choice - P. Jericho ladies and gentleman is totally different with his vocals. Do not take my word for it! Check him out cha self.

You got it! P. Jericho...  check this song out on youtube: This is the one I thought was hella nice.

 P. Jericho ft. Kardinal Offishall & T-Pain "Go Home with You"

Know that I let my laptop stay on youtube to this song for about 20min. I had to listen to this song over and over. Just like I did with da homie Big John The Giant cd.  Jericho would probably be a ladies favorite in regards to the unique sound that he brings to the beats. As you may notice in the pictures on myspace...  he has not been afraid to "show off"  and on the stages "show up".

If you know where you are going in life, it means your road to Success!  is well paved. Regardless of the different struggles you face, climb the staircase one stair at a time if need. If you fall get back up!

If you do not check this guy out... you are only passing up a brother who has what it takes to not only change the game around for different sounding Artist - but use it in his favor...  ladies, his song speaks directly to you... stop what you are doing and take P. Jericho home with you... put the cd in and dance around the house. When you hit the club - tell the Dj to spin dat shyt by ya boi P. Jericho! Take the cd to the club with you...

This is ya boi MJ Hustla.

P. Jericho is out in Oakland with Charlie-O, a local Producer in the city. Stay tuned!

Isis Jones 98.7 Kiss FM

A real woman. A real woman. A real woman. Isis Jones.
First allow me to say thank you for the words of wisdom on the Train to the University we both attended. Thank you for the ongoing support period - the shout out over the airwaves two weeks ago was dope. On that Monday, that particular time and shout out gave me the drive I needed - as if I was making a transition from one part of the purpose of my life to the next phrase of my life.

As a black young brother striving to create the reality I see before me... when I listen to your show online. Whether in New York, Chicago, LA or Saint Louis... I stream live over the internet as soon as I can if I am not busy with my own demands. I hear the introduction/transition music:

"Good Morning!
Your listening to ninety eight - point seven, kiss f.m. Isis Jones with you -- on a Monday
-- hope all is going well.
Aye!
Do me a favor and get your ...   ...office request back in --- coming up at ten o'clock.

Shout out to my boy Michael Johnson all the way out from Missouri listening online."

I wish everyone around the world could hear a voice of inspiration. Never again will I have this opportunity. Today had to be the day I write about someone who is very influential. Today is the day I had to let my words encourage the blog that I write daily, weekly or whenever time permits. I need to learn how I can get a check via western union.

Thank you for being an ear inside the train station in Missouri. Thank you for being a sister. Thanks for only being Isis Jones. It was a pleasure meeting someone of your heart. I was very motivated to write this blog - I did not figure the timing...today must have been the day. Isis Jones everyone! If she hands you the Baton of Success! Run with it! If she gives you any advice - its probably the best your going to get period --- unless it is from the Creator himself directly to you....

Be the Author of the only dictionary that defines you.... Be Self! Do You! As Russell's book would have you read it. Isis, thanks for being the influence. The person I can  listen to on 98.7 whenever I log onto 987kissfm.com from anywhere in the World.

Ya baby boi MJ. Sitting at Star Bucks... as usual.. using up the good ol' internet: wi-fi at&t...lol!

Posted by PicasaTom Joyner... we have not meet yet... but the time will come. I remember I wanted a Scholarship that read Tom Joyner on it...(I meet your son in Walnut Park this summer too) ---but I told myself. I will wait until I actually meet this brother before filling out the forms. I think taking any funds from someone I do not know is stealing - another student who is more deserving, more in need could have probably stayed in school that semester because I did not fill out the forms. Lord knows I needed those funds - but everything still worked out. Somehow the semester I needed it most --- God came through... Shout out to Lincoln University Alumni. Your $500.00 was used to buy two books.

Thank the heavens for people like you Isis, I will be listening on the air tomorrow. Today I have a studio session and a blind agenda seems like...lol! Blind Agenda? Ah! just a little something something I call it when your headed down the road less traveled.

Photo Journalist /Rapper/ Poet MJ Hustla

Create the dream you see before you. Live the life as if tomorrow is not promised. Catch the Dream while it is in front you. Watch the Dream unfold right before your eyes. If you are unsure as to how to tap into that world - - - follow the dream until you finally catch. Get as close to it as you can... once it is within arms reach. Grab it! Never let it go. I am MJ Hustla. I am a Hustla no doubt. I am the Author of the only dictionary that defines me...

"It would be a Dream to Sign to DefJam" - MJ  Hustla 2009

If you can see it --- you can believe it! If you can touch it - you can believe it! If you can honestly say you will die for it - then honestly live for it! I am the best at what I do... no man on Earth can do what I do better then how I do it! What is wrong and wrong for you - is not right and wrong for me... I live everyday with a passion ---that same passion is lived everyday.
